Year 3 trip to MOTAT!

Hannah Wynne —

On Tuesday 14 May the Year 3 students visited MOTAT as part of their Discovery Concept for Term 2.

The students began by exploring the physical world, part of our science curriculum. The trip was planned as an immersive introduction to engage the children with their learning and it certainly did that!

There were organised Smorgasboard Science sessions which introduced them to many different science concepts such as sound, light and colour, magnetism, and much more. The students were able to ask and answer many engaging and interesting questions to further their understanding of these areas and inspire them to learn more.

We also got the opportunity to explore the rest of MOTAT, which did not disappoint. With the old village and school room we learned about how different life at school used to be, an engaging interactive display using old telephones and we mustn’t forget about the human-sized hamster wheel, as well as an exciting tram ride.

MOTAT educators were impressed with how engaged and interactive our students were and so, all in all, it was a wonderful day full of new learning and we are excited to continue our science experiments back at school for the rest of the term. Thank you to MOTAT and their educators for a wonderful and engaging day.
