Level 3 Lockdown

Shannon Hardwick —

28th February 2021

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Last night we learnt that Auckland is once again moving to Alert Level 3 for the next seven days.

This means school will be closed on Monday 1st to Friday 5th March and students will once again learn from home. The vast majority of our staff will be working from home and we will only have a very minimal number of staff on site at any time.

We have been here before and while not ideal we are getting great at switching from onsite to home learning! We appreciate the challenges for families during this time and continue to provide, as much as possible, consistency and positive experiences for our students. Unfortunately, our hui and fono planned for this week will need to be rescheduled, we will send further information about this once we return to Level 1. While we are disappointed that our much-anticipated Maori school name unveiling has also had to be postponed, the health and safety or our students and whanau are paramount, and we look forward to celebrating this at a future date. Please see the advice and links contained in the letter below regarding home learning, attendance and devices.

Home Learning: Our full 'Home Learning' Programme will begin again on Monday, please look for communication from your child's teacher via Seesaw, google classroom or email. If you have issues accessing any of these, you can email your child’s teacher who may be able to support you.

We will have capacity for a small number of children whose parents are ESSENTIAL WORKERS. You must register your child's attendance for this. These students will be supervised from 8.45am -3.00pm only, Kelly club is unable to operate at level 3. Please complete the link below by 4pm today if you need to register your child (complete for each child please). This will enable us to organise to have the support needed onsite. Attendance survey

School owned devices: We are able to hand out school owned devices to assist with Home Learning. It is most ideal to have one device per child. If you would like to request a device, please can you complete this request by 4pm today. Device request

From this information you will be contacted directly via email or text message to arrange a contactless pick up from the school. This pick up will be between 10.00am and 1.00pm on Monday 1st March from the school car park.
We are very aware that this extension will impact on families in different ways. Many students will be upset to be missing school and some may be feeling anxious. Please know that we are here to support you in whatever way we can.

Stay safe and take care.
