A lockdown poem from one of our teachers

Moira Blair —

During the start of lock down Mrs Quinn was wondering about how her students were feeling about being at home during lockdown and she wrote this poem about how they may be feeling.

A Puzzle - (one child’s view)

Four weeks of lockdown?

This can’t be true!

But Jacinda has said so

Miss Blair did so too.

“Stay home in a bubble,

Do puzzles and play.

Stay out of trouble

Make use of your day.”

I can play on the tramp.

Ride my bike all day too.

Read a book, play a card game

I think I’ll get through.

Hang on just a minute

A device did you say?

That’s sounding more like it.

Just stay home and play.

What happened to screen time?

Too much wasn’t good.

Still I think I’ll be happy

To stay in my hood.

So Mum do you reckon

I can use your Ipad

Or maybe your laptop?

Things won’t be so bad.

In all this confusion

I’ve learnt something new;

Devices aren’t vices

They help us learn too.
