Our 2023 Book Week

Maria Kroonenberg —

Term 4 started with an action-packed week about all things books! Our Book Week was a huge success with so many activities to do.

There were daily book quizzes where students had to find the box to put their answers. Lots of prizes were given out and it was so much fun listening to them trying to work out where the 'book fairies' had hidden the boxes.

We had some special guest readers in the library each day at lunch reading their new books - media personality Suzy Cato, former Football Fern Dr Michele Cox, cartoonist Stu Duval, and even the senior leadership team got into character and put on an entertaining play.

On the Thursday, the very talented Stu Duval taught the whole school how to draw cartoons. He was hilarious and everyone's drawings turned out amazing. We now have some of Stu's books in the library to enjoy.

The highlight of the week was, of course, the Book Parade. We have never seen so many students getting dressed up in all their favourite book characters - not to mention the teachers! We'll let the pictures the follow tell the story. Thank you for all your support at home. We hope the reading bug continues.
