This term we have been looking at sustainability for our Learning to Learn focus and music for our arts focus.

Learning to Learn

The Porohita team have been learning about how plants grow and what nutrients plants need to help them grow. We have also been discussing what different seeds grow and how we can grow our own food. Lots of our plants are now starting to thrive in our garden and we have loved taking care of them each week. 

By the end of the term our goal is to:

Recognise that all living things have certain requirements so they can stay alive.

Recognise that living things are suited to their particular habitat.

We will then be able to find one small change, through food produce, that we can make to help look after our planet. 

Music

We have been participating in a music rotation this term to learn about a range of different instruments that make up an orchestra. We have also looked at the history of music and how it changes throughout the term. During Samoa Language Week we enjoyed learning songs from a culture different to our know. By the end of this term we are going to use all our learning around music to create our own sounds and jingle.
