The mixed blessings of Level 3

Moira Blair —

While we would love nothing more than New Zealand to be Covid free and our students to be onsite learning with us, we have been using the opportunities of Level 3 to work on some property projects at Three Kings School.

Our school buildings were due a repaint according to our cyclical maintenance and we have used this opportunity to update the colours. With the help of some colour experts the wall colours have changed to a crisper white, with the doors and trim reflecting our school colours, a richer blue and bright red. The brown at the base of our prefab buildings will change to grey to reflect the colours of our heritage rock walls that are such a lovely feature of the school. This painting will continue through weekends and holidays, with a small crew working on the back of buildings through the school term.

We have also started on the hall ceiling while it was sitting empty. For anyone that ever looked up during our school assemblies you may have noticed that the ceiling panels were near the end of their life cycle. These are being replaced and insulation added which will make it slightly warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
