We hope that you have started to settle in to the new normal that lockdown means for your family. We appreciate that this will look different for individual families and perhaps even on different days. Some days your child may be bouncing out of bed keen for learning, some days they may be slower to start or keen on games and family time. This new phase of New Zealand’s response to COVID-19 is very different than anything most of us have ever experienced. I wanted to reassure you that our school staff and Board of Trustees will continue to be available to support your child’s learning and wellbeing in the next weeks.

Last week the Year 6's enjoyed a fantastic three days down in the Kaueranga Valley, supported by an enthusiastic army of teachers and parent volunteers.

Thank you to all of those who have already paid their school activity fee. We rely on this funding to continue to provide the variety of rich opportunities for our students to learn beyond the classroom.

Today is Safer Internet Day, a global event joining 150 nations, thousands of organisations and millions of people together for a better internet. Netsafe are using the day to promote behaviours that support safe, responsible and positive online outcomes. See below for a couple of useful links;

Both these business people gained their success through their knowledge of coding and used it to create programs used by billions of people worldwide. In today’s world, it’s essential for young people to learn how to create software not just consume it. Education outside the classroom is a highly anticipated part of our Kauri team school experience with our Year 5 EOTC days and our Year 6 camp.

Thank you to our school community - we raised $577 for our Australian counterparts whose schools were affected by the bush fires this summer.
