We would love for your help to create the attitudes, values and dispositions that we see as essential for our Three Kings learners. Read on and have your say below.
The New Zealand curriculum is a statement about what is deemed important in education and takes, as its starting point, the vision that all young New Zealanders should be actively involved, confident, creative lifelong learners. It is important for every school to develop its local curriculum, a curriculum which is unique and responsive to priorities and preferences of their community.
A key part of developing the Three Kings local curriculum is the development of our learner dispositions. This is a list of the skills, attitudes and ways of being that we would like all of our students to aspire to. Three Kings School currently use the RICH values (Respect, Involved, Curious and Honest). We are currently reviewing the role these values play in school and the relevance they hold for our community. Over the last few weeks the teachers have developed a list of dispositions they feel are important for our children and we are now at a point where we want to gather the voice of the community. Students will have an opportunity to have their say later this term.
You can share your opinion using this form. To ensure we get responses that reflect the diverse makeup of our community we would love it if you could share a little information about the age, ethnic background and gender of your child(ren). This information will only be used to ensure we have responses from across the community and you can choose not to share it if you prefer.
