Three Kings School Case

Message from the Three Kings School Board of Trustees

Kia ora koutou,

The school was informed this morning by Auckland Regional Public Health that a Three Kings student tested positive for COVID-19. We shared this update with our community as soon as possible

The Board and Principal have been in contact over the day, including a Board meeting to discuss advice we received from Auckland Regional Public Health that the school can remain open.

We are reassured that the school remains safe, and there is very low risk of infection. We can remain open.

Please be reassured that not all COVID-19 cases and histories are the same. The situation and response differs between schools and workplaces that may see cases among their communities.

In this particular case, the student has not been at school whilst infectious, or for a number of days prior to their COVID-19 test. Contract tracing by health officials has determined there is only one contact in the school community, someone who was not exposed at school. They are currently in self-isolation. There are no other people within the school community who are considered casual or close contacts.

As parents ourselves, we understand that the new case in our school community is a concern. However, we also wish to assure you that as parents and as Board members we have reviewed all the information to date and feel confident that following the advice to remain open is safe and appropriate at this time.

As an extra reassurance the school will have an additional deep clean today (Sunday 20th).

We continue to keep in contact with health officials and the Ministry of Education about local cases and impact on our community.

If you have any questions about the public health advice provided to the school, please see the contact detail below.

Ngā mihi
