It is our pleasure to reveal our school wide Karakia Kai, to the Tikiraki North Loburn school community.

Anna Webb —

A karakia (blessing) for kai (food) is a simple one. It acknowledges those who helped grow and prepare the food you are about to eat. At Tikiraki North Loburn the kaiako (teachers) and tamariki (students) will say the Karakia Kai before their snack in the morning, at Garden To Table and whenever the opportunity presents itself for us to share kai. We believe this reflects our Enviroschool values of respecting our environment and celebrating the resources it provides us. We hope you will all embrace this resource.

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful artistic border, designed and drawn by Melanie Philpott, of Totara. It makes our poster unique to our kura (school) and will be displayed with pride.

Thank you Melanie. Ashleigh Connelly kindly created a digital copy for our school as well.
