Maadi Cup National Secondary Schools Rowing Championships 2019
Over the course of a week, 21 rowers from Timaru Boys' High School competed in this major event at Lake Karapiro.
In an intense competition involving over 2,000 students from 120 schools, our boys earned places in no less than thirteen A Finals (fastest 8 crews) and four B finals (next 8 fastest crews); an exceptional result that surpassed many schools who had two to three times as many rowers as well as hugely superior resources.
These results are testimony to their dedicated training commitment over the past six months.
Without exception, each rower, under the able leadership of seniors James Davidson and Liam Parker, gave his all in both terms of effort on the water and as a Timaru Boys' ambassador. Well done boys - you have done us proud.
