Timaru Boys' High School commenced the 2020 year with a resounding optimism, outworked through our Powhiri that welcomed all new staff and students into our special community.

Supported by Whaea Kim Yeferni, Whaea Sharon Melrose, Matua Quentin Hix we followed the process of gathering newcomers into the fold of Timaru Boys’ High School.

This year was extra special in that we welcomed our new Rector, Mr Dave Thorp, accompanied by numerous family members and a team from Wellington College who supported his arrival and commended him to Timaru Boys'. Wellington College Principal, Mr Gregor Fountain, Mr Jonathan Belczacki (HoD Maori) and Paul Retimanu (Chair Board of Trustees) joined us for the day.  We extend sincere thanks to them all for contributing to this memorable occasion. 

We are appreciative of the support offered to us from our local tangata whenua and proud of our students who supported kōrero by singing waiata beautifully outside the whare entranceway.
