48 Hour Film Festival

TBHSSeptember 24, 2016

Over the weekend of 16–18 September, twelve senior boys (two teams) participated in the HP48 Hour Film Festival with the goal of writing, shooting and editing a five minute movie within the 48 hour timeframe, using specific elements and genre.

Essential inclusions in this year’s films were:

Character: Charlie Flower (thoughtful)

Prop: Wool

Line of Dialogue: “One more time”

Shot type: Rack focus

Team GreyBot (Jacob Keenan, Morgan Ward, Niko Keen-Beran, Flynn Schikker, Joshua Glass, Ryan Davis, Tim Wills, James Bell, Thomas Bell, Liam Arthur) had to make a Mystery movie, and team Fat Butterfly (Callum Shrimpton, Brennan Hawkins and Ryan Davis) made a Mistaken Identity film.

Both teams completed their films on time with Team GreyBot handing theirs in after 47 ½ hours and Team Fat Butterfly after only 23 ½ (due to work commitments) on Sunday.

Both teams will get to see their films on the big screen at Reading Cinemas, Christchurch in heat 4 on Wednesday evening.

Thank you to Mr Smith and Thomas House Hostel for the use of the Pavilion/ Junior Common Room, to the Administration staff for organising the alarms for us, and to Johannes Runge for his support on Friday night.
