Here it is again, the end of another year. Is it because as you get older the year seems to get shorter as opposed to the boys who probably feel the year was never going to end! But end it does and this week is it.

Speaking as a participant of the Year 13 Leavers' Dinner, I thoroughly enjoyed the smooth organisation and sense of occasion for the final send-off to the Class of 2015 and participating in what may be the last time many of us will eat at Seven Oaks Reception Centre due to it's imminent closure.

Congratulations to Oliver Linton for his success during the 2019 Ice Hockey season, a season that saw him captain the U15 Dunedin Thunder National League Ice Hockey team.

TBHS farewells Jonathan Garner who has been with us for eight special years.

In a three week timeframe, a Rugby Sevens team that was much younger, smaller and inexperienced than previous years had to be moulded together, and fundraisers and sponsors sourced.

Congratulations to Ben Walker who has been accepted to play bass trombone in the New Zealand Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Mr Wayne Doyle, our TBHS Visual Arts teacher extraordinaire has ranked fourth in the world after breaking the Masters 50-plus age group decathlon record!

Ten Year 9 boys were taken on a school trip to Richard Pearse airport for a flight over Timaru and the surrounding area as a reward for consistently displaying a positive attitude and effort in their class over the year.

One of the activities for the Year 10 electives was cycling the Duntroon-Oamaru Alps 2 Ocean trail, all 54kms of it!

Played in ideal conditions at School Park on Tuesday 26 November.

The Rite Journey programme has culminated with the final challenge of the year, recently completed at Peel Forest.

A group of 15 TBHS students, comprising of eight 2020 School Prefects and seven members of the Year 10 Burnham Leadership Training team, assisted at the Special Olympics Swimming event at C-Bay on Wednesday 27 November.

We enjoyed having Year 8 students visit our school on Wednesday 5 November 2019.

We add another well earned round of congratulations to Bailey Lissington for his success in coming 2nd in the 2019 Skills Bright Sparks Competition.

This year saw St Kevin's oversee a mini Year 9 and 10 Cricket tournament during the last week of the school year.

Tuesday 12 November was the second season of the Caroline Bay Relays that plays host to six different races.

Former TBHS 1st XV Captain Cullen Grace continues to make great strides in the rugby world.

Timaru Boys' welcomed Old Boy Siua Maile back into the fold in November.

The annual junior summer exchange with Waitaki Boys' High School was contested in fine conditions in Timaru on Wednesday the 13th of November.

Congratulations to three of our students who received A+ passes in their MATH199 Course through the University of Canterbury: Bailey Lissington, Matthew Lang and Ben Helliwell.

With Christmas fast approaching and the "Black Friday" Sales underway, this is a good time to purchase electronic devices to be used by students in school.

This year's Golf Fundraiser was played in ideal conditions on Friday 22 November at the Timaru Golf Club out at Levels.

A reminder to parents that Junior Prizegiving is scheduled for 11:00am Thursday 5 December.
