Congratulations to Anae Lissington, Head of School 2021 and Stella Vaivai, Deputy Head of School 2021.

Ms Hales —

We are looking forward to having you on the leadership team next year girls!

Kia ora Koutou,

At the time of writing this, our seniors have had their last days at school for 2020 and are getting ready for their final academic challenge for the year, NCEA external examinations. Our junior students have just sat their internal school examinations. Another school year is slowly coming to a close.

Our prize giving last Wednesday night was an evening to celebrate. Thank you to everyone who came along to share in the occasion. Congratulations to all of our prize winners. We finished the evening by announcing our top two academic awards for the year; Proxime Accessit - Anika Rawlins and Dux of 2020 - Francesca Gould. Congratulations girls, your consistent hard work has paid off!

I am delighted to announce Anae Lissington as our Head of School for 2021. She will be ably assisted by our Deputy Head of School for 2021, Stella Vaivai. I know that these two girls will be supported by the wider student body and by our staff.

Our Year 10 students are in Hamner for their action-packed 4 x day camp. A lot of positive memories are made during school camps and I wish the staff and students a safe, enjoyable week away.

Our incoming Year 8 hostel students are coming in for a “taster evening” on Thursday 12 November. It’s always exciting welcoming new students to our Girls’ High family. We look forward to also spending quality time with our new Year 9 students at the start of next year before the rest of our school comes back. Many of our new families will now be getting this newsletter. Welcome, all of you, to the Girls’ High family!

Junior reports are in the process of being written and these will be issued to our students on the last day of Term 4, Friday 4th December.

There will be one more newsletter for the year following this one. Thank you all for your ongoing support.

Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
