Pathways / Careers

TGHS —

The Pathway/Careers area has been very busy with students attending first aid, Café Barista and fire safety training courses.

The skills they have learnt will be helpful in; seeking part time employment, current part time employment and future full time job opportunities.

Several students attend the Dunedin Tertiary Open days where they had the opportunity to explore both University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic campuses and experience the tertiary environment first hand. The day consisted of various presentations, Campus and Halls of Residence tours. The photo below is of two of  Shammah Ncube and Fifita Langi queuing for a presentation at the University of Otago Business School.

This term Gateway students are on work placement in the Community. Imy is at the SPCA experiencing the aspects of animal care.

Halena Lagan is interested in event management and assisted with the set up and running of the Digigirlz event held in Timaru recently. She is also working with Special Events Aoraki.
