Sanford Science Fair

TGHS Science —

Recently some of our year 9 and 10 students entered projects in the Sanford Science Fair.

This year students from year 9 and 10 were able to enter in the Sanford Science Fair. After many postponements, this was held on Saturday the 6th of November. Overall, we had three amazing projects submitted.

Hannah Heffernan (year 9) submitted her project, "Vegetation Purification", which looked at the purification abilities of floating gardens and their possible uses in the future.

Nerissa Fitzgerald's (year 10), “How green do we clean?” used worms to investigate the environmental friendliness of washing detergents.

Holly Turner (year 10) designed a moisture meter and used this to test different mulches to investigate how well they were able to maintain moisture.

These projects were all fantastic and demonstrated a huge amount of time and commitment outside of the classroom. A huge range of prizes were awarded, and Holly Turner received 2nd place overall.

Well done girls!
