Hands-On at Otago

This is an exciting opportunity for students who will be in Year 12 or 13 in 2021. Successful applicants will get to experience a week of Otago University life over the summer holidays including staying at a Residential College, studying a subject of their choice and getting hands-on in a university department. WiE CAN

The University of Canterbury is running another Women in Engineering Residential Programme in the January holidays. This is open to students who are in Year 12 this year and are keen to explore the opportunities offered in the engineering field. Successful students will take part in hands-on sessions, inspiring presentations, fun social activities and stay in a Hall of Residence. We have some funding available to send students along, so please see me if you’re interested in applying. Tertiary Applications

This term students should be busy working on their tertiary applications. Most university scholarships are open and will close on the 15 August. Likewise, Hall of Residence applications are now open and I advise students to have these completed by mid September. They may like to wait until they have attended the Otago or UC Open Days and had a look at the Halls before applying. I am happy to assist students with their applications too.

Most students can wait until after the Liaison Officers have been for course planning later this term, before they submit their actual course applications. However some courses do have earlier closing dates including Vet Nursing, Teaching, Nursing, NASDA, Oral Health. Please check the university/polytech websites for dates or see me if you are unsure.
