Year 10 Outdoor Education Class
On Wednesday the 27th of February our Outdoor Ed class went to The Pareora Dam River for a tubing trip.
We began the trip with a karakia and went over the safety procedures. Then we grabbed our tubes and headed up the river. Once we got to the starting point we jumped into our tubes and away we went. After getting stuck on lots of rocks we finally made it to deep water where we stopped to jump off a big boulder. After we had all had a chance to jump we carried on down the river for a while until we got back to the vans. The weather turned out to be a lot better than we thought and with our thermals and our wetsuits we definitely all stayed warm. This trip was really fun and we all enjoyed our first of many outdoor ed trips to come. - written by Kate Poulter and Gemma Davidson
