The Y13 History class had a recent trip to Akaroa to study an aspect of the history of this beautiful area.

Setting off on Sunday 19 May the students were accompanied by Mr Dawson and Ms Robinson. 

Monday morning started nice and early with a tour of various sites around Akaroa with a guide to inform the class of the history of the area. 

After a couple hours of this tour, the students were then set off to the Akaroa Museum where the director of the museum Lydia Wallace showcased what the students had access to in the museum collection. 

The remainder of the day was spent researching a chosen aspect of the local history that will form a large part of an internal assessment. 

Returning to school on the Tuesday the students were tired and content after a fun and busy few days immersed in all things History.
