Principal Update October 2022
The final week of Term 3 is a week where some long standing TGHS school traditions are observed.
Distinctions assembly, Aitkin and Waters day, and the House Choir competition all added colour, House spirit and a sense of celebration to our last week of the term.
With just 2 weeks of the school year left for our senior students, our older girls are primarily focused on their NCEA examinations in November and completing any remaining internals. Seniors should be engaging in a study revision plan by now. I strongly encourage all girls to really make the most of those first 2 weeks of Term 4, to work productively alongside their teachers to access any support that they need .Senior students can continue to come into school after the senior prize giving to meet with teachers and / or just have a quiet, educational environment to do some study in. This is also a crucial time for students to complete work for internals. We love seeing girls coming into school at this time. Everyone is welcome.
Our vision is for every student to experience success, and for that to truly happen, there has to be a willingness from the student, to work hard. The rewards will come when the effort is put in! Teachers are there to support and guide the girls every step of the way.
I have enjoyed seeing many of our junior students achieving well in a range of aspects of their schooling this term. Our Year 9 and 10 students are our leaders of the future. The positive attitudes that I have seen, and the desire by so many junior students to get involved in the wider life of our school, is heartening.
I look forward to seeing everyone again on the 17th of October as we prepare for a successful final term of the year.
Thank you again for the ongoing support that we receive from our wonderful parents, grandparents and guardians.
