Term 1 2021
Another busy term in the life of our school comes to an end.
Schools are fast moving, dynamic places; it never ceases to amaze me how much we squeeze into a term!
Recently in assembly I spoke to the girls about the importance of, and power of, a positive mindset. We want to develop within the girls a strong knowing that their success at school, and in life, is hugely dependent upon the mindset / attitude that they choose to adopt.
Involvement in the extra curricular side of school life is a wonderful way to make positive connections with fellow students and staff. Many of our girls are taking these opportunities and getting stuck into a range of activities outside of the classroom. This kind of involvement promotes engagement in school life and therefore assists with the girls feeling happier and more connected at school.
We have our Hostel Centennial celebration happening over the weekend of 16-18 April. This will be a wonderful occasion for our school, as “Old Girls” come back to TGHS over the course of the weekend and share stories and reminisce about their days in “The House”.
We said farewell to Mrs Andrea Wreford at the end of this term. Andrea has worked in the front administration office since 1997. Andrea is retiring and looking forward to embarking on a new “work-free” phase of life. Over the years we have had a number of employees work in the administration office but Andrea has been the consistent face. We thank Andrea for the huge service that she has given to TGHS over the years and we wish her all the very best for the future.
I wish all of our students a restful break and we look forward to continuing on the TGHS journey in Term 2.
