Welcome to our new staff for Term 1 2025

Debbie Waldron —

Mrs Meghan McNally

My name is Mrs McNally and I am excited to be a part of the Timaru Girl's School community! I have a Bachelor of Music Education and have been teaching Music for nearly 18 years in Western Australia and now NZ.

I have two young daughters who attend Pleasant Point Primary School and my husband works for the Department of Conservation as a Ranger in Geraldine. We moved to Timaru nearly two years ago because we wanted to see as much of New Zealand as possible.

I have a real passion for music education and love spending time with my family discovering adventures in the stunning South Island.

I can't wait to get to know the staff and students here and am looking forward to many wonderful musical experiences!

Ms Midge McMillan

Ms McMillan

Hi, I'm Ms McMillan and I am teaching Senior Art while Ms. Trainor recovers from her surgery.

I have lived in Timaru since 1995 after spending several years in Australia, during which time I travelled with a Circus and trained as a Hairdresser. I have been teaching and tutoring art since 2003, to all ages and abilities and exhibiting since 1999. The Aigantighe has my work in the permanent collection while other paintings have sold both in NZ and overseas.

14 months ago, I completed a course in Gamilaraay Language and Culture through TAFE NSW as part of my journey to learn more about my culture. It was an incredible experience; one I would recommend to anyone interested in learning more about themselves.

This year, aside from teaching, I am studying part-time towards a BA in Creative writing, exhibiting and collaborating with Wellness Practitioners to put together some workshops and classes on Creative Flow.

When I am not spending time with my son, I enjoy Yoga, time in nature and am never without 3+ books on the go. We live with 2 cats who don't get along with each other and an Aussie.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and playing golf.

I am looking forward to this new role and I am excited to be part of the Timaru Girls’ community.
