Last Wednesday over 50 senior students participated in the Ara Sector Day.

They attended sessions on Health, Enterprise & Digital Innovation, Pasifika, Hospitality, Hair & Beauty and Trades. They participated in various activities including incubating a dummy patient, audiology tests, driving diggers, changing tyres, trying on protective electrical equipment and cooking pizza, as well as visiting some local businesses including Timaru Hospital, Farmside and Rooney Earthmoving. The students also found out about different study and career opportunities in South Canterbury, which has also enabled them to consider options they haven’t thought of before.
