House Choir Competition
On the afternoon of Tuesday 22 September, the sound of voices filled the Nora Dickie Hall as House Choirs competed for the Dorothy Gibb Cup.
Each choir showed their skills in singing both the Test Piece, Rockin’ Robin and their choice piece. The choirs used soloists effectively as well as instrumentalists and accompanists. All choirs showed individuality and a high level of musicianship. The students presented themselves in an immaculate manner embracing the high standards of this event.
Kowhai gained first place followed by Konini in 2nd place with Rata 3rd and Ngaio 4th.
Thank you to Mrs Miller for judging this event, the House Leaders and Mrs White for overseeing the House Competition.
A Starry Night
An entertaining night of musical items was held in September in the hall. The Arts’ Committee decorated the hall to the theme and Mrs Trainor set-up some Art Portfolios.
Due to Covid restrictions, numbers were limited but the event was well supported including parents, friends, the hostel and staff members.
As many of these performers are NCEA students, it was great to see such a diverse range of talent amongst the singers and musicians.
Well done girls!
