Hostel Update

TGHS Hostel —

The House held our traditional 'Ball Befores' for our Year 12 & 13 boarders and families last term and it was a fantastic night to finish T3.

Our juniors made truffles the night before and we set up our own photo backdrop which was a hit.

We introduced a new Hostel girl at the start of Term 4 - Kiwi the Golden Retriever, who's growing bigger by the minute.

Kiwi spends most of her days outside the hostel and loves pats, shaking paws, playing, and exploring campus.

We recently promoted TGHS and The House at The Mackenzie Highland Spring Fling in Fairlie. We are lucky to have girls willing to represent us on their weekend in uniform - big thanks to Neve Jones and Jodi Johnson who came down on the day as locals who go away to boarding school.

We sat next to TBHS/Thomas House and caught up on all the exciting things in store for the future of our schools and hostels.

We had a compulsory 'out' weekend for the long weekend and hope all our boarders had a relaxing time at home or homestay.

The long weekend finished with a Hostel family BBQ on Monday evening, however due to mother nature we brought the party inside and enjoyed burgers and ice cream.

This was our last catch up as a community for the year and a great chance to farewell and thank the members of our working party committee departing us with Year 13 girls graduating.

Our 13 leavers dinner was a lovely night, with tears and memories the main event. Massive thank you to our Thomas House catering team for providing the lovely food, and to Lyn Geary AKA Mrs Claus for handing out Secret Santa gifts. We bid farewell to our Gap Student Emma with a South African themed dinner - 'Bobotie' and 'Melktert', it was great to try more international dishes and is something we want to continue next year.
