TGHS —

We would like to welcome the newest members of our TGHS whānau.

TERM 1 2024

MRS SHARON JACKSON

Kia ora, my name is Mrs Sharon Jackson and I am acting Head of Maths this year while Mrs Rooney is on maternity leave.

I am originally from South Africa but have been living in New Zealand for almost 29 years, so this is very much home for me. I was teaching in Auckland until a year ago when I decided to have an adventure in the South Island, which has led me to Timaru this year.

I love teaching maths and am looking forward to this role and being a part of the TGHS community.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, walking, kayaking and cycling.

Mrs Amanda Davies

Hi, I'm Amanda Davies and I'm excited to return to TGHS as the new Community Builder.

I was born in Timaru and have lived the majority of my years here. Over the last 7 years I have been heavily involved in local sports committees, this was a very rewarding experience. In my last role as a Traders Assistant in the agricultural sector, I was tasked with setting up and implementing systems for a new venture to the market in New Zealand.   Myself, husband and two children live on a lifestyle block on the outskirts of town.  In the weekends as a family we enjoy playing and watching sports and looking after our animals.

My goal as your new Community Builder, is to build strong connections between past and present students, and facilitate communication between our school and the community. I'm looking forward to working with everyone and making a positive impact together.
