International Student Update

TGHS Internationals —

Looking back over Term 2

We welcomed Beauty Pisalchaiyong from Thailand and Kana Kashima from Japan at the start of this term along with some short stay Year 10 students from Thailand.

Even though it has been a very busy Term 2 it was great to see many International students getting involved in the life of the school. Jane Ji and Muriel D’Souza were both involved in the production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, Jane as a part of the band and Muriel as part of the cast.

Furthermore, we had some International students, Pat Laothepphitak, Jane Ji, Kana Kashima, Yu Bianca Tada, Jane Peeyachaiprapa enter their group into the lip sync, along with International students in the hostel joining their hostel lip sync performance.

Muriel D’Souza has also done well with her band ‘Electic Vibes’ entering the Rockquest competition and Jane Ji and Suzuna Aoki performed with the Kapahaka group at Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competition in Christchurch and the Youth Art Exhibition.

It is great to see International students getting involved and make the most of the opportunities presented to them.

We look forward to a further 11 students arriving in Term 3 and we hope that they will enjoy their time here with us at Timaru Girls’ High School.
