What's New with the CREW at TGHS

TGHS —

A HUGE WELCOME to the new staff who have joined us since our last newsletter. We know you will love being a part of our very special TGHS school community.

Ms Elle Bradley - TGHS Hostel Director of Boarding

Hi I'm Elle and I grew up in a small town in rural NSW Australia called 'Hay'- one of the flattest places on Earth.

I moved to Timaru from Wellington where I was Assistant Manager at a girls' hostel in the city.  Prior to that I was at a co-ed rural boarding school in Albury (Australia, not the one down the road).

I have a diverse background in youth and pastoral care, having been involved with the summer camps in America for a few years, and also the event coordinator for the Special Children's Christmas Party.

In my spare time I have a small business as a mobile travel agent which has opened up some amazing opportunities to travel the world like gorilla trekking in Rwanda and expeditions in Alaska.

I am passionate about youth mental health, and I believe in a progressive education and way of life, and I'm so excited to lead the fantastic team at 'The House', and get to know what really matters to our girls.

Emma Connolly

My name is Emma Connolly and I am a Gap tutor from South Africa. I enjoy creative activities such as painting and drawing. This love of creative activities has inspired me to pursue a career in architecture and I plan to study that next year. I am so excited to be working at the hostel and experiencing this strange new country. I have already learned so much and hope to learn so much more.

Tashnika Da Silva -

My name is Tashnika da Silva and I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa. I am a positive person that enjoys bringing smiles to everyone's face. I'm always grateful for what I have and what my parents have done to get me here. I used to go to boarding school and it was honestly so different to how it is here.  It feels good to experience different things in a different country and see how perfectly it runs. I saw an ad about this job and it seemed so cool, I get to travel and work with kids! I took the job because I wanted to see how it would be like on the other end of the role and it honestly took me by surprise and each day I sink into this bubble of joy.

I've worked as an English Language tutor in special needs.

I am looking forward to being part of the TGHS school community.
