Jolly Jars - A Great Holiday Activity
School Holidays are Coming: The Great Gala Jolly Jar Drive is ON!
With the school holidays kicking off in just a week, we know parents everywhere are looking for fun, screen-free activities to keep the kids busy. Look no further! This holidays, we are officially launching our School Gala Jolly Jar Drive and we need your creative flair.
For anyone new to the school, a Jolly Jar is simple: take a clean, empty glass or plastic jar, fill it with fun treats, toys or novelties and decorate the outside! They are a massive hit with the kids at the Gala and a fantastic fundraiser for our school.
Instead of hearing "I'm bored" next week, clear out the recycling bin, raid the craft drawer and get the kids designing!
Think Outside the Jar!
We want to challenge our amazing community to get as creative as possible this year. To give you some inspiration, here are a few legendary standouts from the last gala that the kids still talk about:
🎃 The Spooktacular Jar: A brilliant Halloween-themed jar packed with spooky candies and plastic spiders.
🐸 The Freddo Frog Pond: A chocolate lover's dream, themed entirely around Freddo and friends.
🎤 The "Swiftie" Jar: A massive crowd-pleaser complete with friendship bracelets, glitter and Taylor Swift stickers.
Holiday Project Ideas:
The Crafter’s Companion: Fill a jar with googly eyes, pom-poms, mini markers, and stickers.
The Dino-Dig: Layer it with small plastic dinosaurs, temporary tattoos, and green/brown wrapped treats.
Lego Mania: Drop in a few mini-figures and a handful of classic bricks.
💡 Top Tip for Parents: Fillers don't just have to be candy! Hair ties, fun erasers, glow sticks, bouncy balls and collectible cards are always huge hits with the kids and great for budget-friendly filling.
