Tumuaki / Principal Korero
Kia ora koutou Titirangi whānau, Nau mai, hoki mai! A very warm welcome back to school for 2026.
It has been wonderful to see our tamariki back within the gates, filling our kura with life, laughter and energy once again. There is a real sense of excitement in the air as we settle into the rhythm of the new year.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the class meetings this past Monday. Seeing so many of you there was a fantastic way to kick things off; it’s clear that our community is as committed as ever to supporting our students’ journeys.
Arrival at School
Just a reminder that children should not be dropped off or arrive at school before 8:15am. Mornings are an important preparation time for teachers, and some syndicates also hold team meetings during this time.
From 8:15am, children may leave their bags and play outside; however, they should not be in classrooms at this time.
For families needing earlier care, Kelly Club is available from 7:45am to 8:30am. This session includes breakfast and costs under $10.
Parking at School
There are many fantastic things about Titirangi School, but we will be the first to admit that our parking availability is not one of them. I recommend parking on Titirangi Road, around Deco, at the parking building by the library or in the church carpark opposite our driveway. The 2min zones are for drop off and pick up only so not suitable if you have younger children who need to be walked into school. Absolutely no parking in the school carpark please - we are pushed for space for staff and visiting educators and it is really dangerous having cars driving in and out as children are arriving at school or leaving at the end of the day.
Gratitude to Our Supporters
In today’s economic climate, we know that business sponsorship is a significant commitment. We are incredibly grateful to the local businesses that stand behind our school:
Titirangi Village Dental: Thank you for your continued and loyal support.
Fazal Rokadia from Barfoot & Thompson Titirangi: A very warm welcome to our newest sponsor for 2026! We are thrilled to have you on board.
Fresh Choice Titirangi: Our sincere thanks for your long-standing support over many years; you are a true staple of our community.
Thank you all for being part of the Titirangi Primary team. We are looking forward to a brilliant year of learning, growth, and connection.
Hats & Lost Property
Over the holidays we collected up three big rubbish sacks of lost property to take to recycling - many of the items were good quality clothing. Lost property is located in the corridor between Room 3 and 4. Please check it regularly for missing items. If items are clearly named we do our utmost to return them to students. Term 1 is a hats term - please make sure hats are named clearly with first and last names.
Litterless Lunchboxes
We encourage litterless lunches at school and students are rewarded for this. A big focus of being an Enviro School is to reduce waste. Students are asked to bring any litter from their lunches home with them at the end of the day.
Phones and Smart Watches
Students must hand mobile phones into the office each morning and they can be collected at the end of the day. At Titirangi School, we include Smart Watches in this policy as they can often take photos and make calls - it is too difficult to differentiate what each watch can do, so the requirement is that both Smart Watches and phones are stored at the office - thank you for your understanding.
We are looking forward to a fabulous year full of lots of engaging activities and new learning. Thank you for everything you do as parents and whānau that helps to make our school the special place that it is!
Ngā mihi nui,
Andrea
