A reminder that students should be arriving at school from 8.15am onwards.

Andrea Thomas —

We are getting a number of students arriving at school before 8.15am - some are even getting here before 8am.

We encourage students to get here between 8.15am and 8.40am. This way we know the road patrollers will be on duty at the crossing and there will be plenty of staff around the school should anything of concern happen.

Teachers often have meetings with parents, or in their teams, at 8am onwards, so can't be available to support or supervise students. Often, classroom are used for these meetings. On Fridays we have a whole staff meeting. . Our office doesn't open until after 8am so if a child has an accident and needs first aid, there may not be anyone around to help them.

Road Patrollers may arrive earlier to school in order to be organised for an 8.10am start. If you need to be at work earlier than 8.15, we do have Skids onsite to offer before school care. To find out more go to https://www.skids.co.nz/locations/titirangi/. Our main focus is on student safety and we cannot ensure this if children are arriving too early.
