Welcome to Term 3 - a term full of art, action and achievement!
Welcome back to Term 3! We hope all of our whānau had a restful, refreshing break and enjoyed the winter holidays - especially the Matariki long weekend. It has been truly special seeing New Zealanders come together to celebrate a uniquely Kiwi holiday.
Over the past few days, it’s been wonderful hearing stories from both students and staff about how they spent their time off. Whether it was cozy family gatherings at home or incredible regional events - like those who traveled to Rotorua to watch the spectacular Matariki drone light shows telling traditional stories across the night sky - it's clear it was a meaningful time for connection and reflection.
Now, as we step into the second half of the year, we are ready to build on that momentum with an event-packed term ahead! There is a buzz of energy around the school as we dive straight into some fantastic learning and celebration opportunities.
With the Football World Cup Final finishing off on Monday, football fever has officially taken over! We know we have a lot of football-mad students, teachers and caregivers who were up early watching the action. Hopefully you are not too devastated if your team was not victorious at the end of the tournament.
We’re channeling all that sporting excitement directly into our PE programme this term with a packed rotation of football, hockey and gymnastics. It’s going to be an active, high-energy term on the field and in the hall!
Our specialist classes continue with Vicki Moffat teaching science, Andrea Holmes teaching performing arts and Terri Vinsen teaching environmental studies.
We are also looking forward to our upcoming Learning Conversations, where students get to take pride in sharing their progress with you. We hope everyone has been enjoying the new timing of receiving learning updates once a term. Our goal with this shift is to give you a clearer, more regular insight into how your children are progressing, growing and achieving throughout the year.
Thank you for your ongoing support, enthusiasm and partnership. Let’s make Term 3 one to remember!
