Bee & Wasp Stings

Andrea Thomas —

Just a quick heads-up from the school office – it seems like the wasps are having a bit of a party at school lately!

We've had a few more little stingy encounters than usual, and those pesky critters seem to be particularly fond of our swimming pool area and handrails around the school.

Don't worry, we're keeping a close eye on things. We're doing our best to keep the wasp population in check, but they're pretty determined little guys!

Here's the drill:

  • Little Stingers: Most of the stings have been minor and we're treating them with ice, cream and a bit of TLC.

  • Big Reactions: If your child gets a sting that's a bit more serious, or if they're really upset, we'll give you a call straight away.

  • Bee & Wasp Whānau: If your child has any known allergies or sensitivities to bees or wasps, please, please let us know! We need to be extra vigilant and prepared.

Think of it as a bit of an outdoor adventure... just with a few extra buzzing participants! We're all trying to enjoy the sunshine, wasps included.

Thanks for your understanding, and here's hoping we can all keep sting-free for the rest of the term.
