Tumuaki / Principal Message
Here at Titirangi School we recognise and understand what a privilege it is to work in a school that is continually supported by our incredibly special community. Over the past few months, we've asked a lot of you – from participating in the Vision West can collection to sending in pyjamas for the Jammie Army Middlemore Hospital collection and lastly for supporting our students in the mathathon.
We understand that this is a busy time of year, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity and willingness to contribute to our school community. Your support has made a significant difference - both to the charities we have supported and to our school itself.
As we approach our upcoming school gala, we know that many of you are juggling multiple commitments. We want to emphasise that your support is greatly appreciated, but we also understand that it may not be possible for everyone to participate.
Our goal is to create the best possible learning environment for our children, and we appreciate everything you do to help us to achieve this. Whether you attend the gala, donate items for the auction, act as a class gala rep or simply offer words of encouragement, your support means the world to us.
I am constantly surprised - in a good way - with the offers of help that we get - we do REALLY, REALLY appreciate it. And every little bit helps - whether you come into school and put a few books away in the resource room, attend a trip as a parent helper or get home after a long day of work and still manage to take the time to send a lovely email - everything that you do as a community helps to fill our basket.
The gala is the next big thing on the horizon - we will be sending out lots requests - if this overwhelms you or just doesn't fit with your family at the moment - please be okay about disregarding those requests. If you are able to help, please do.
It's a huge event and we really want it to be successful - the Gala is synonymous with Titirangi School and it's something we really wanted to bring back - but it's also a challenge. Teachers are busy, parents are busy and we know it will be a challenge - but we have a great group of class reps that have (nervously) put their hands up to help and we are determined to put together an awesome event.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to our school community. Naau te rourou, naaku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi - with your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive.
