Andrea Thomas —

As the final bell rings for the year, it is with a mix of pride and immense gratitude that I share this last newsletter for 2025. What a wonderful year it has been!

We have reached the much-anticipated summer break. This is a special time for our tamariki to rest, play and connect with their whānau after a busy and productive year of learning. I wish every single one of our students, staff and families a safe, relaxing and joyous holiday season. Please enjoy the sunshine, the beach, the backyard adventures and the opportunity to simply slow down. We look forward to hearing all about the summer fun when we all return.

To our fantastic Year 6 students: it’s time to say a fond farewell. You have shown great leadership, resilience and spirit during your time here, and you are ready for the next adventure. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. We wish you all the very best as you transition to intermediate school. Go forth and shine brightly — we know you will make a huge impact!

To the families who are saying goodbye to their last child from our school: thank you. Your commitment, volunteer hours, trust and support over the years have been invaluable and have helped shape our school community. We deeply appreciate the time and energy you have invested in our school. We wish you all the best for your family’s next chapter. You will always be a part of our school whānau.

To our dedicated teachers and incredible support staff: thank you, thank you, thank you. The heart of our school is the unwavering hard work, creativity, patience and passion you pour into your roles every single day. The learning environment you create for our students is exceptional, and I am so grateful to work alongside such a committed team. Please take a well-deserved break to recharge.

Finally, I’d like to extend a warm welcome and thank you to our newly elected School Board. Governance plays a crucial role in the strategic direction and well-being of our school, and I am genuinely excited to begin working collaboratively with this committed group. I look forward to partnering with you to ensure our school continues to thrive in 2026 and beyond.

We can’t wait to welcome all our returning and new students back when school resumes for 2026. Until then, have a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Year.

Mā te wā,

Andrea
