Pest Control /Taonga Of TPS - Another TPS lunchtime group

Office Admin Titirangi School —

At TPS, we’re lucky to have such talented teachers who generously offer a range of free clubs and activities for our students to enjoy.

Children who have expressed an interest in conservation from Y3-6 were invited to attend the Predator Monitoring Group on Tuesdays at lunchtime.

During this time we identify treasures of Titirangi Primary School: Tui, Kereru, kowhai, kauri, pohutukawa, rimu, monarch butterflies, cicadas, puriri moths, weta, bees, kokapu, freshwater shrimp, tuna (eels), and humans.

We work hard to control the pests that affect our treasures: wasps, possums, rats, mice, noxious weeds, and humans.

So far we have made wasp traps and monitored them, eliminated rubbish and sports gear from the boundary fence, set up a pulse with bait control and monitored.

It is great being in the outdoors and contributing to our wonderful environment.
