During the last 3 weeks of Term 1, in your child’s class, we will be teaching the personal safety programme ‘Keeping Ourselves Safe’.

A parent and caregiver meeting will be held as follows:

Monday 4 March at 6 pm in the School Staffroom

Keeping Ourselves Safe has been designed to give children the skills to cope in situations involving abuse. It has three overall aims:

  • To develop and strengthen children’s skills to keep themselves safe from other people

  • To support and encourage abused children to get help from caring adults

  • To make teachers and parents more aware of the need to keep children safe from abuse by adults or other children.

This programme will be taught by your child’s teacher, with help from the local Police Education Officer, Constable Carl Musto. Talking to your child about what they are learning will help reinforce the messages taught at school and help your child to use the new skills with confidence. More information about the content of the programme can be found at this link.
