Let's talk teacher contact! We know you're all super keen to stay in the loop with your tamariki's learning and we love that! But sometimes, we need to chat about the best way to get those lines of communication buzzing.
Maintaining clear communication between school and home is essential for our students' success. We understand you have questions and we appreciate your engagement. To ensure efficient and effective communication, we'd like to outline the best ways to contact our teachers.
Here's the lowdown:
Pop In! If you're dropping off or picking up, and you've got a quick query, feel free to pop your head in and say "Kia ora!" Teachers are usually happy to have a quick chat, but be aware that there are often before school or after school meetings - so this should be for quick things like checking whether swimming is on.
Book a Catch-Up! For those bigger questions or if you want a more in-depth chat, making an appointment is the way to go. This way, the teacher can give you their full attention and you won't be interrupting their planning and prep time.
Ask Away! We're all about open communication! So, don't be shy. Ask those questions! It's way better than making assumptions, which can sometimes lead to a bit of a muddle.
Remember! We are all a team, and want the best for your children.
Emails are often not a great form of communication when you are feeling worried or upset. Concerns sometimes arise that can feel frustrating. When this happens, we strongly encourage you to reach out for a phone call or schedule an in-person meeting. Talking directly allows for immediate clarification, a better understanding of each other's perspectives and a more productive approach to resolving any issues.
If you need to send an email - send one through with a brief description of what you have heard happened and ask some questions to clarify - be aware that sometimes only half of the story comes home.
Our staff are here to help, so let's keep those lines of communication open and flowing! Thanks for being such awesome partners in your child's education!
