P2 Drop off Zone & Parking Etiquette

Office Admin Titirangi School —

We would like to remind everyone of the correct use and expectations regarding our drop-off zone. At the moment, the system is not operating as smoothly as it should.

We need everyone’s cooperation to ensure the safety and efficiency of this space.

Recently, we have observed a number of vehicles remaining in the 2-minute zone for extended periods while waiting for children to arrive. In some cases, the cars are left unattended and this makes it very difficult for other vehicles to enter the area.

Please remember:

  • The drop-off/pick-up zone is strictly for immediate collection and drop-off only.

  • Vehicles must not be left unattended while P2 Restrictions apply.

  • Drivers should remain in their vehicles and move off promptly once their child has entered or exited the car.

To help the system work effectively for everyone, please:

  • Speak with your children about being ready to approach the car promptly when you arrive so that you enter and exit the zone quickly.

  • If you pull into the drop-off zone and don’t see your child, drive out and do a loop - this allows for other caregivers to park, whose children may be ready to be collected, and it will keep traffic flowing.

  • If there are no spaces in the drop-off zone, continue driving and find parking further down the street. Or do a loop by using  the turning bay further down the road and then return. Please don’t queue over the roundabout.

  • Consider parking in the village or the church car park across the road as an alternative option.

  • If you have older children, consider arranging to meet them in a less congested area, such as the library carpark, SuperValue or further down Atkinson Road.

The drop-off and pick-up process works very well when everyone follows the guidelines. Your cooperation ensures the safety of our students and helps reduce congestion and frustration for all families.

While we are talking about parking etiquette, another reminder please, do not drive down the school driveway unless you have a pre-arrangement with school administration. We have precious children walking through this area and do not wish for there to be any accidents.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
