Wellbeing Through Creativity.
Encouraging creativity in children is vital for their overall wellbeing. Creative expression fosters self-discovery, allowing children to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe and imaginative way.
Through art, music, storytelling, and play, they develop essential problem-solving skills, enhancing their ability to think critically and adapt to challenges.
Engaging in creative activities also promotes emotional regulation, providing a constructive outlet for stress and anxiety. Moreover, completing creative projects instills a sense of achievement and boosts self-esteem, empowering children to embrace new opportunities with confidence.
Most importantly, creativity brings joy and excitement into their lives, nurturing a lifelong love for learning and exploration. By fostering creativity in our children, we are not only supporting their artistic talents but also nurturing their holistic development and wellbeing.
This term Room 10 is exploring the emotion of Joy through art. They will be holding a mini art exhibition of their work in the Upstairs Gallery in Lopdell House from 6 July.
We have artist Shane Hasen returning to TPS this term, to complete our Creatives in Schools mural.
In Term 3 we our concept enquiry is Visually Arts. Each child will create an artwork that will be shared with the community in an Art Exhibition at Te Uru Art Gallery in Week 10.
As the long weekend approaches, think about ways to be creative with your children. The wellbeing of both you and your children will benefit. Enjoy
