Tumuaki / Principal Message

Andrea Thomas —

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person that contributed to the incredible success of our recent school gala.

The day was a testament to the power of community and the joy that can be found in gathering together. Whether you helped with raffle boxes, the auction or decorating the amazing Wonka Sweet Shop, whether you donated goods or time on the day - none of what was achieved on Saturday would have been possible. without you

The weather was absolutely perfect, providing a stunning backdrop for our gala. The sun shone brightly, the sky was a brilliant blue, and school was the star of the show.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with the excitement of the tamariki and the wider community. It was heartwarming to see so many families and friends come together to support our school and enjoy a day of fun and entertainment - especially those families that no longer had children at the school. It was an amazing way to connect.

The smiles on our students' faces were infectious. They were thrilled to participate in the various activities, from the slippery slide and bouncy castles to the exciting performances on stage. The Kapa Haka opened the performance stage with both skill and passion. I can't wait to see them perform at the Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Festival this week. The Pasifika Group closed out the day, getting the Mums and Dads up for the last dance.

We were incredibly fortunate to have the support of so many volunteers. From setting up the stalls to running the games, your dedication and hard work were instrumental in making the gala a resounding success. Your efforts truly made a difference, and we are eternally grateful for your contribution.

A special thank you to our dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to organise and coordinate this event. Your creativity, passion, and commitment to our students are truly inspiring.

Nui rawa atu ki a koutou katoa. Your support and involvement have made this day a vibrant event and we look forward to the next one in 2026.

Ngā mihi nui,

Andrea
