Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Showcase – Two Chances to Cheer On Our Tamariki

Andrea Thomas —

Titirangi whānau are in for a treat this term, with not one but two opportunities to watch our tamariki bring kapa haka to life.

Mark your calendars for Monday 14th September at 1.30pm, when our kapa haka group will take to the courts for a performance right here at school. Whānau and caregivers are warmly invited to come along, find a spot on the sideline, and watch our tamariki share their mahi.

Please note this performance is weather permitting - if conditions don't cooperate, keep an eye out for updates from the school about any changes to timing or location. Fingers crossed for clear skies!

Then: Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Showcase at Glen Eden Intermediate

The excitement continues on Friday 20th November, when our tamariki will join other kapa haka groups from across the area for the Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Showcase, hosted at Glen Eden Intermediate.

"Kōtuitui" speaks to the idea of weaving together - connecting schools, whānau and communities through the shared celebration of te reo Māori, waiata, and haka. This showcase is a wonderful chance to see our students perform alongside their peers from other kura, and to experience the wider strength and pride of kapa haka across our community.

Whether you can make it to the courts on the 14th September, join us at Glen Eden Intermediate on the 20th of November or come along to both — your support means the world to our performers. These kaupapa take weeks of practice, dedication and heart, and there's nothing quite like performing in front of a supportive crowd of whānau and friends.

Save the dates:

  • Monday 14th September – School performance on the courts (weather permitting)

  • Friday 20th November – Kōtuitui Kapa Haka Showcase, Glen Eden Intermediate (time to be confirmed)

We look forward to seeing you there to cheer on our tamariki!
