Victory at Westwave: TPS Reclaims the Championship Cup!

On Wednesday, 4th March, the Western Districts Sports cluster kicked off the 2026 season with its first Inter-School event of the year.

As the annual hosts of the swimming competition at Westwave, our school welcomed students from across the 10-school cluster, including Laingholm, Woodlands Park, Titirangi, Kaurilands, Konini, Prospect, Fruitvale, Glen Eden, Kelston, and St Leonards Road.

After winning the Championship Cup in 2024, our team faced a heartbreaking 1-point loss to Woodlands Park last year. This year, the squad returned with a point to prove. The team featured a fantastic blend of experienced returning swimmers and fresh talent, including standout representatives from Year 3 and Year 4. Their versatility across all strokes was the key to our success, with every single race contributing to the final tally.

The day wasn’t just for the students! The much-anticipated adult races saw our teachers and parents diving in to support the cause.

This year’s competition was exceptionally tight, with every school in the running for the top tiers.

A massive thank you to Mrs. Booth and Mr. Ramji for their tireless work training the team, and to all the parent helpers who ensured the day ran smoothly. It was a proud day for TPS, and our athletes are already looking forward to their next challenge: the Inter-School Cross Country.
