We are excited to see one of our ex-Titirangi Primary students, Katie Bowen, in the 2024 New Zealand Olympic team.
During her time at Titirangi Primary, Katie excelled in all sports but she especially loved football!
When she was 14, she became the youngest player to represent New Zealand at recognised international level when she played in a New Zealand U-17 match.
In 2011, at 17 years old, Katie played her first senior international match for the Football Ferns and now has over 110 caps for her country!
She has played in four FIFA Women’s World Cup campaigns.
At the 2023 New Zealand Football awards, Ford Football Ferns and Inter Milan defender Katie Bowen was voted the overall Player of the Year, in addition to winning Women’s Player of the Year.
This is her second time representing New Zealand at the Olympic Games.
