STEM Club
Every Tuesday at lunchtime you will find a group of explorers experiencing the wonders of STEM Club!
This term it has been the turn of the Year 1 and 2 children to participate in activities that engage their minds in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths. Two or three studentsper class were invited to attend and we have undertaken the following activities: making stars, creating a volcano, investigating, creating and observing bird feeders, making mazes and coding a 'mouse' through the maze. It has been a lot of fun!Next term some of the Year 3 and 4's get to explore the STEM club. If you would like to contribute any ideas, or items listed below, or provide assistance for the STEM club please contact vickm@titirangi.school.nz. Wishlist items: paper thread yarn/ribbon/string
Tape: masking, painter’s, duct, scotch, Washi, pipe cleaners nails screws nuts and bolts pieces of wood, dowels. Fabric/cloth scraps/felt/recycled clothing/socks. Cardboard, tin cans, food container lids/food containers, coffee stirrers, straws ,paper/plastic plates/cups, cardboard rolls, bottle caps, corks, jars, buttons, shells/pebbles/rocks Origami paper, chart paper, shoeboxes, dismantled toys/pieces of models/broken toys or board games that can be repurposed. Sequins/rhinestones, scrapbooking paper, old holiday cards, pompoms, cotton swabs, cotton balls, egg cartons, drink trays.
