Miri Kirihimete I Merry Christmas

Andrea Thomas —

As the year draws to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing community for a wonderful year.

We have felt so much support as a school and we continue to really appreciate the love and care that is shown to us day after day.  On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone - staff, community and especially our incredible tamariki - for the way I have been welcomed into the Titirangi whānau - it feels like I have been here forever and I have loved every single day that I have come to work.

Our community has been thrown some challenges along the way - with flooding, classroom moves, illness and at the end of year - my spectacular fall and broken leg!  However, I feel like the way everyone has faced these challenges - with resilience, flexibility and humour - is a real testament to the school's culture.  I would like to acknowledge how amazing the whole staff has been in my absence!

The school will have a lot of work happening over the holidays so please be mindful of that.  We would like to ask that people don't use the driveway, carparks or the field/playground over the break as there will be contractors here completing the groundwork for the playground.  In January work will start on some classroom renovations so the school will be a worksite for most of the break.  For safety reasons, we would ask that the grounds don't get used unless your are a pool keyholder getting to and from the pool area.

In saying that, this means the start of the year should be pretty exciting, with some refreshed classrooms and a new playground opening at some point in Term 1.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and sunny Christmas holiday filled with friends and family. We are looking forward to 2024 and seeing everyone back in the new year.

Ka kite anō.

Andrea
