Green Thumbs and Busy Bees: Enviro Club is Buzzing!

Office Admin Titirangi School —

This year, our school's Enviro Club is blooming with exciting initiatives, offering two fantastic opportunities for students to get involved and make a difference.

Dana and the enthusiastic Enviro Group are ready to dive into a term packed with hands-on learning and environmental action!

We're running two separate sessions to cater to different age groups and interests:

  • Backyard Biology (Year 4, 5 & 6): Join us on Wednesday mornings during tea and lunchtime for two 30-minute sessions of exploration and discovery. This group will delve into the fascinating world of backyard biology, learning about the ecosystems right outside our classroom windows.

  • Lunchtime Enviro Club (Middle & Junior Students): Middle and junior students are invited to join the lunchtime Enviro Club, also on Wednesdays. We'll be working together on projects that make our school and community more sustainable.

This term, the Enviro Club will be focusing on several key areas:

  • Waste Reduction: We're committed to minimising our school's environmental footprint by finding creative ways to reduce waste.

  • Eco-Friendly Cleaning: We'll be introducing and promoting the use of eco-friendly cleaning products to create a healthier environment for everyone.

  • Litterless Lunchboxes: Let's work together to reduce single-use packaging! We'll be encouraging and supporting students to bring litterless lunchboxes.

  • Terraced Bee Garden Improvement: Our beautiful terraced bee garden is getting a makeover! We'll be planting new flowers and creating a thriving habitat for our buzzing pollinators.

We encourage all students with a passion for the environment to get involved. Whether you're a budding biologist or simply want to make a positive impact, there's a place for you in the Enviro Club. Let's work together to create a greener, more sustainable school!
