Tumuaki / Principal Korero - Whānau and Board: Charting Our Course Together

Andrea Thomas —

As we work to ensure our school continues to thrive, we are inviting you to be a part of our strategic planning process.

This is a crucial time where we reflect on our school's vision and set clear, measurable goals for the years to come.

Strategic planning is a collaborative effort that helps us decide where we want to go and how we will get there. It is a shared journey that brings together the voices of our students, staff, and most importantly, our whānau.

To ensure we capture a wide range of perspectives, we have held several key consultation events, including a parent hui and fono. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and shared their valuable insights.

To gather even more feedback, we have also created a parent survey. Your input is vital in helping us set goals with our new school board. Your responses will help us understand what is most important to you and your children, and will directly influence the decisions that shape our school's future. You can find a link to the survey at the bottom of this article.

As we move forward, it's helpful to understand the different roles within our school's governance. The school board is responsible for the overall governance of the school. They set the strategic direction, ensure the school is meeting its goals and manage the school’s assets.

The principal, on the other hand, is the professional leader and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, implementing the strategic plan, and leading the staff. Together, we form a partnership to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Your feedback is a key part of this partnership. Please take a few moments to complete the survey and help us build a school that reflects the aspirations of our entire community.

Ngā mihi,

Andrea
