Tumuaki / Principal Message

Andrea Thomas —

As we approach the end of another wonderful year at Titirangi School, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the many fantastic experiences our wonderful tamariki have had.

From the excitement of our school gala, where students showcased their talents in various performances and competitions, to the adventure of our Year 5 and 6 camp, where they explored new environments, challenged themselves and forged lasting friendships, our students have embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.

We've also celebrated the creativity and imagination of our students through our book character parade, where they transformed into their favourite literary characters, bringing stories to life. Our students have excelled in various sporting competitions, showcasing their skills and determination on the field and in the pool. They've represented our school with pride and achieved some incredible results in interzone competitions.

We've had a 'Bee Day', visits from international students, Kapa Haka, Pasifika and Bollywood performances. We've welcomed whānau in for Celebration of Learning Days, visited The Arataki Centre and of course Te Uru - our Art Exhibition was a highlight of the year!

We're incredibly proud of all our students' achievements and would like to thank our dedicated teachers and staff for their hard work and commitment to providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment. They've gone above and beyond to create engaging lessons, foster positive relationships with students and inspire a love of learning. We'd like to thank our amazing community that continue to support our school in so many different ways.

As we look ahead to the 2025 school year, we hope our students are excited about the prospect of new classes and new teachers. We will be sad to see our Year 6s leave but know that they are well-prepared for their next adventures. We understand that change can sometimes be nerve-wracking, but it's also an opportunity to make new friends, learn from new perspectives and discover new passions. Learning to be comfortable with discomfort makes people more resilient and adaptable with change. When challenged with new experiences, students not only develop new skills and perspectives, but also develop their self-esteem, proving to themselves they are capable of handling more than what they may have thought. We encourage our students to embrace these changes with open minds and hearts.

We wish all our students and their whānau a safe and happy holiday season. May you enjoy quality time together, relax, and recharge for the year ahead.

Nāku noa, nā,

Andrea
